a:I think we will lose to Richlands
    b:and maybe bluefield
c:south lost to much I see us beating them
4:we will only know about va high once they start playing, until then a last year caliber va high couldn't handle gate citys backfield this year, when ever dusty did touch the ball against them we drove down the field 15 yard chunks at a time to score the game winning touchdown, this year he will be getting twice the carrys, along with jo (who dominated last year). everyone thinks our line will be down, but we return 4 players from last years line and replace the other lost with aaron reed, i just don't see the drop off.

The running game is a givin, its going to be nasty. I think it will be enough to beat most of the teams on our schedule by itself, if we have a passing game with a pulse of 59 we will win 9 of them.

    Re: LPD Predictions

All I know is GC should have a decent team this year. They have the potential to be like the 02 team. But we all know what happened to that team. No games are a given in H.S. football. Gate City's biggest hurdle used to be the state semis. Right now it is the State Quarterfinal game. I know the coaches and players hate to play at Wise but they need to rid their thoughts of that. If they are lucky enough to play in that game again just do it. Its the last year that it will happen. For this year the thought should be play anywhere. Line up on concrete if need be.

Shouldn't that be the thought/mentality you want your football team to have EVERY year?

They should have but not all of them did. Still did not cost them the game though. Lebanon has wanted it more the past two years plain and simple. Most felt that it was an alwful lot of work to be #1 seed and not play a plain Quarterfinal game at their own Stadium. May be more neautral sites next year but they wont be on college fields. Next year a #1 seed could have to travel if the opponent is 200+ miles away to play on neautral sites. A #1 seed could have to play 2 or 3 games on neatral sites next year.

    Re: LPD Predictions

i dont see how people can use teh UVAW field as an excuse, its not like one team had to play with college specs and the other got to play on high school regulations, both teams played on the same field.

I have hope that PV goes 5-5, but it could be bad. PV has a rich football tradition and tons of pride associated with the program, maybe that alone will motivate the kids and make the team decent.

PV can beat: Lee, Pound, JJK, Appy, maybe Burton.
beating CW, GC, Harlan or Letcher Co. would be huge and could really make a great season but its a total uphill climb.

I'm more curious to hear how in any way shape or form in any year played there, where the hell the hash marks were on the field and how wide the goal posts were played a difference in any game ever played there?

    Re: LPD Predictions

I would go ahead and chalk down Richlands, Harlan, Gate City, and Clintwood as def 30+ point thrashings, starting with Richlands as the worst loss and all the way down the line.

It's still fine for VA teams to have to go to Tennessee for in District baseball games though, right?
